Children of the Dragon and Grandchildren of the Immortal is a Vietnamese legend about the origin of the Vietnamese people. In this way of calling, Dragon refers to Lac Long Quan and Immortal refers to Au Co. Vietnamese people call themselves the Dragon and Immortal descendants or the dragon and immortal lineage, which means they claim to be the descendants of Lac Long Quan and Au Co. This is a name often used in Vietnamese poetry with the implication of calling for solidarity among the ethnic groups in Vietnam.
